Settled in 1676 and incorporated 1740, Hanover Township is comprised of Cedar Knolls and Whippany. It is home to Morristown Airport, the third largest airport in the state and the Morris County Library. There are plenty of businesses that call Hanover Township their home including Cadbury, JPMorgan Chase, Tiffany and also the radio stations WMTR & WDHA.

Village of Monroe

Founded by Demas Ford in 1715, the Village of
Monroe was located on King's Road which is now
Whippany Road. It became a stagecoach stop
between Morristown and Whippany.

Parks

Blackbrook Park
Located at the end of Griffith and Machester Drives

The park contains a standard size baseball diamond and a Little League diamond, 3 lighted tennis courts, two roller hockey courts, a picnic area and gazebo, playground, a basketball court, a tennis practice wall, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and restrooms.  There is a bicycle and jogging path around the perimeter of the park. 

Brickyard Field at Bee Meadow
Located behind Bee Meadow Pond off Reynolds Ave.

This lit facility has amphitheatre seating which houses the Summer Concert Series as well as serving as a practice field for various athletic events.

Central Park
Located at the intersection of Eden Lane and South Jefferson Road

Thirty-one acres on the south side of the Whippany River are in their natural wooded state.  A thirteen acre section of the park holds a small ice hockey rink, gazebo and a volleyball court (available by permit only through the Recreation Office), a passive recreation area, small soccer field and a tot playground.

Malapardis Park

Consists of two parks - the Upper which is located off of Mountain Avenue and the Lower off of Malapardis Road.  The Lower park contains a softball diamond, a midget league football/soccer field, a newly renovated themed playground, a picnic area, basketball backstops, a volleyball court and horseshoe pit, and a small pond and fountain.  The upper and lower parks are connected by an 8 foot bicycle and walking path.  The Upper park included a parking lot and four tennis courts.  Restrooms are located in the lower portion of the park.
